Arts, Culture & Entertainment

Music does not retire. Neither does laughter, creativity, curiosity, or the desire to be entertained.

Arts, Culture & Entertainment celebrates the enormous role that music, theater, film, television, books, comedy, dance, visual art, performance, and popular culture continue to play throughout our lives.

This section introduces artists who never stopped creating, performers who returned to the stage after decades away, people discovering artistic talents later in life, and professionals whose careers have given them fascinating perspectives on the culture we have shared.

We will talk with musicians, actors, directors, writers, comedians, artists, photographers, dancers, historians, educators, critics, collectors, and fans. Some conversations will focus on what is happening now; others will revisit the music, movies, television, theater, fashions, personalities, and cultural moments that became part of our collective memory.

Nostalgia has a place here, but this is not a nostalgia section. We are just as interested in what older adults are creating, watching, listening to, reading, and experiencing today.

Arts and entertainment also provide something deeper. A song can bring back an entire period of life. A play can make us see something differently. A painting can communicate something words cannot. Comedy can make difficult subjects easier to discuss. Creativity gives people a way to continue expressing who they are.

And sometimes we simply need to have fun.

Because there is no age limit on creativity—and absolutely no age limit on being entertained.

Six ways to live it fully
